Major Industrial Hub — Full Fire Alarm, Intruder Alarm, CCTV & Gate Automation, Norfolk

The Challenge

A major new industrial hub development in Norfolk required a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary fire safety and security solution across all units from the ground up. The client needed a single, specialist contractor to take full responsibility for design, supply, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of all fire safety and security systems — ensuring every unit was individually compliant, remotely monitored, and protected from day one of occupation.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group were appointed as the principal fire safety and security contractor for the entire site. We carried out the full system design, supply, installation and commissioning of the following across all units: a fully addressable BS 5839-1:2025 Category L2 fire alarm system using Advanced Go+ addressable panels with Apollo XP95 protocol — providing precise device-level detection and alarm management; a Texecom Grade 3 intruder alarm system for each unit, providing commercial-grade perimeter and internal intrusion protection; remote monitoring for both fire and intruder systems on each unit, ensuring 24/7 professional response capability; CCTV coverage throughout the site, providing comprehensive visual surveillance of all areas; and automated gate systems for controlled site access. All systems were designed, installed and commissioned in accordance with the relevant British Standards.

The Outcome

The entire industrial hub is now protected by fully addressable, remotely monitored fire detection and a Grade 3 intruder alarm system across every unit. CCTV and gate automation provide site-wide security from day one. Norfolk Fire Group will carry out all ongoing maintenance and servicing thereafter, providing the site management with a single point of contact for all fire safety and security compliance. Full commissioning documentation and certification issued for all systems on completion.

Networked Addressable Fire Alarm System — Lake Lothing Bridge, Lowestoft

The Challenge

Lake Lothing Bridge in Lowestoft required a fire detection and alarm solution across two physically separate structures — the main control tower and the Abutment building. A standard standalone system could not provide the integrated, site-wide detection and alarm management required for this critical infrastructure project.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group designed, supplied, installed and commissioned a networked addressable fire detection and alarm system across both structures. A fibre network infrastructure was installed to link the control tower and the Abutment building, creating a single integrated detection network. This allowed both systems to communicate in real time, providing centralised alarm management and full device-level monitoring across the entire bridge installation.

The Outcome

Both structures are now protected by a fully integrated, networked addressable fire detection and alarm system. The fibre network ensures seamless communication between the control tower and the Abutment building, providing unified alarm management and event logging across the site. Full commissioning documentation and certification issued on completion.

Wireless Fire Alarm with Remote Monitoring — Oakleigh House, Norfolk

The Challenge

Oakleigh House is a Grade II listed country house in Norfolk used for private functions and events. The building was only protected by basic wireless domestic smoke detectors that needed replacing, and traditional cabling and surface-mounted conduit would have caused unacceptable damage to the historic fabric and interior finishes — making a conventional wired system unsuitable for this heritage property. The client also needed the building to be protected around the clock, including during unoccupied periods between functions and events.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group specified and installed a wireless addressable fire alarm system throughout Oakleigh House. The wireless system eliminated the need for invasive cable runs, preserving the listed character of the building entirely. Wireless detection devices with integrated sounders were installed in all escape routes and all other rooms throughout the house, including bedrooms, ensuring a clear audible warning is given everywhere in the building the moment a fire event is detected. Wireless manual call points were also fitted at all final exits and escape route locations, allowing occupants to raise the alarm manually from anywhere in the building. The entire system reports to a single addressable control panel, and was combined with remote monitoring — covering both any fire events and any faults on the system — so that a professional response is triggered immediately whether the alarm activates or a device goes into fault, giving the house 24/7 protection during events and through unoccupied periods.

The Outcome

Oakleigh House is now protected by a modern, fully compliant wireless addressable fire detection system with remote monitoring for 24/7 protection. The works were completed with no damage to the listed fabric, and full commissioning documentation and certification were issued on completion.

Advanced Go+ Addressable Fire Alarm Replacement — The Morley Agricultural Foundation, Morley, Norfolk

The Challenge

The Morley Agricultural Foundation is a charitable foundation based at a rural site in Morley, Norfolk, hosting meetings, events and agricultural community activities. The site had a faulty Ziton addressable fire alarm system that was no longer providing reliable protection, with recurring device faults and panel issues that could not be economically resolved. The foundation needed a specialist contractor to take on full design responsibility for a replacement system that would bring the premises back into full compliance and provide reliable, future-proof protection for staff, visitors and the wider community using the facility.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group were contracted to replace the faulty Ziton system and selected the Advanced Go+ addressable fire alarm system as the replacement platform. We carried out the full design, installation and commissioning of the new system throughout the building, using the Advanced Go+ addressable panel with Apollo protocol detection to provide precise device-level identification across all areas of the facility. The new system was designed and installed to BS 5839-1:2025, with a tailored cause-and-effect programme and detection zoning matched to the building's use. The faulty Ziton system was decommissioned and removed, and the new Advanced Go+ installation was brought online with minimal disruption to the foundation's activities.

The Outcome

The Morley Agricultural Foundation is now protected by a modern, fully compliant Advanced Go+ addressable fire alarm system, designed, installed and commissioned to BS 5839-1:2025. The project was a great success — the recurring faults and unreliability of the previous Ziton system have been eliminated entirely, and the foundation now has a reliable, future-proof fire detection system protecting staff, visitors and event attendees. Full commissioning documentation and certification were issued on completion, and an ongoing maintenance schedule was set up to keep the system compliant and reliable going forward.

Addressable Fire Alarm & Grade 3 Intruder Alarm — Herne Bay Crematorium

The Challenge

Herne Bay Crematorium required a complete fire detection and security upgrade to protect a public ceremony facility that regularly hosts large gatherings, mourners and staff. The building had no compliant addressable fire alarm system in place, and the client needed a bespoke cause-and-effect programme to ensure total protection across the chapel, congregation areas, back-of-house and plant rooms — without false alarms disrupting sensitive services. A Grade 3 networked intruder alarm with remote monitoring was also required to secure the premises outside of service hours.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group took on the full design responsibility and installed a new addressable fire alarm system throughout the crematorium. A complex set of cause and effects was programmed into the system, ensuring total protection across all areas — with detection zoning and alarm routing tailored to the building's use so that any fire event triggers the correct, proportionate response without disrupting services unnecessarily. Alongside the fire alarm, a Grade 3 networked intruder alarm system was installed, providing commercial-grade perimeter and internal intrusion protection in line with BS EN 50131 and PD 6662. Both the fire and intruder systems were integrated with remote monitoring, giving the facility 24/7 professional alarm response and full protection outside of operating hours.

The Outcome

Herne Bay Crematorium is now protected by a fully compliant, addressable fire alarm system with a bespoke cause-and-effect programme tailored to the building, plus a Grade 3 networked intruder alarm — all remotely monitored for 24/7 protection. Full commissioning documentation and certification were issued for both systems on completion, and an ongoing maintenance contract was set up to keep both systems compliant and reliable.

Fire Alarm, CCTV & Intruder Alarm Installation — Greens Facility, Cromer

The Challenge

Greens Facility is a new build commercial facility in Cromer, brought forward as a greenfield development with no existing fire detection, security or CCTV infrastructure in place. The client required a single, specialist contractor to take full design and installation responsibility for three integrated systems — a fully compliant fire alarm, IP networked CCTV and a Grade 3 intruder alarm — all tied together with remote monitoring for 24/7 protection. The project had to be delivered to a fixed handover date aligned with the client's operational launch, with every system individually certified to the relevant British Standard and ready for occupation from day one.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group designed and installed a fully compliant BS 5839-1 addressable Advanced fire alarm system throughout the new facility, using an Advanced addressable panel with Apollo protocol detection to provide precise device-level identification across all operational areas. A cause-and-effect programme was configured to manage alarm routing and minimise false alarms, and a fire alarm zone plan was produced and installed alongside the control panel. Alongside the fire alarm, an IP networked CCTV system was designed and installed throughout the facility, providing comprehensive visual surveillance of all internal and external areas with remote viewing capability. A Grade 3 intruder alarm system was then fitted, delivering commercial-grade perimeter and internal intrusion protection in line with BS EN 50131 and PD 6662. All three systems — fire, CCTV and intruder — were integrated with remote monitoring, ensuring 24/7 professional alarm response and full site protection from the moment the facility went live.

The Outcome

Greens Facility was signed off ahead of the client's launch date with a fully compliant, addressable fire alarm system, IP networked CCTV and a Grade 3 intruder alarm all installed, commissioned and remotely monitored. Full commissioning documentation and certification were issued for every system on completion, giving the client a single, consolidated compliance pack covering fire, security and surveillance. An ongoing maintenance contract was set up to keep all three systems compliant, with Norfolk Fire Group acting as the single point of contact for all fire safety and security servicing going forward.

The Challenge

Edingthorpe Hall is a Grade II listed country house in Norfolk used for private events and holiday lets. The building had an obsolete conventional fire alarm system that no longer provided reliable protection, and traditional cabling and surface conduit would have caused unacceptable damage to the historic fabric and decorative finishes — a common obstacle when upgrading fire safety in heritage properties. The client also needed the building to be protected around the clock, including during unoccupied periods between lets and events.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group installed a new wireless addressable system throughout the hall, eliminating invasive cable runs and preserving the listed character of the building entirely. The wireless addressable system provided complete building coverage across all guest rooms, event spaces, kitchen and plant areas, all reporting to a single addressable control panel. The system was then combined with remote monitoring, giving the hall 24/7 protection with professional alarm response both during events and through unoccupied periods.

The Outcome

Edingthorpe Hall is now protected by a modern, fully compliant wireless addressable fire detection system with complete building coverage, combined with remote monitoring for 24/7 protection. Two Loop Addressable Fire Alarm Integration — The Marquis of Layham, Suffolk

The Challenge

The Marquis of Layham is a historic pub and restaurant with letting rooms above, operating as a licensed premises with sleeping risk. The building already had a partially installed fire alarm system in place, but it lacked the capacity and coverage to bring the whole premises up to full BS 5839-1 compliance. The client needed a specialist contractor to take on the design responsibility for a larger, fully addressable system and — critically — to integrate the new installation seamlessly with their existing system, rather than ripping out and starting again.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group took on the design responsibility and installed a two loop addressable fire alarm system throughout the premises. The two-loop addressable panel provided the device capacity and zoning flexibility needed to cover the public bar, restaurant, commercial kitchen, cellar, guest letting rooms and escape routes from a single control point. The new system was then integrated with the client's existing system, providing seamless system integration so that the existing and new detection worked together as one unified, compliant fire alarm network rather than two separate systems.

The Outcome

The Marquis of Layham now has a single, fully compliant two loop addressable fire alarm system protecting the entire premises, with the new installation seamlessly integrated with the existing system. Full commissioning documentation and certification were issued on completion, and the client avoided the cost and disruption of replacing serviceable existing equipment.

The Challenge

A hall in Fakenham required a modern fire alarm upgrade that would provide EN54-compliant protection without the disruption of traditional cable installation. The end users also required the ability to monitor and control the fire alarm system remotely — something conventional systems cannot offer.

Our Solution

Norfolk Fire Group designed and installed a fully wireless Ajax fire alarm system throughout the hall. The Ajax system is EN54-certified, providing the same level of reliability and compliance as a wired addressable installation — but with no cable runs required. The system was integrated with the Ajax app, giving the building's management team the ability to monitor system status, receive real-time alerts, arm and disarm zones, and review event logs directly from their smartphones. A fire alarm zone plan was produced and installed alongside the control panel.

The Outcome

The hall is now protected by a modern, fully EN54-compliant wireless fire alarm system. The end users have full visibility and control of the system via the Ajax app, with instant push notifications for any alarm or fault events. The installation was completed with minimal disruption and no damage to the building fabric. Full commissioning documentation and certification issued on completion.
