Why Accreditations Matter
In the fire safety industry, the quality of workmanship and the competence of the person carrying it out are critical — poor installation or a substandard fire risk assessment can have fatal consequences. Accreditations and recognised qualifications provide independent, third-party evidence that a company meets specific competence standards.
When choosing a fire safety company in Norfolk, always ask to see their accreditations and check that their engineers hold relevant qualifications — not just company membership of a trade body. Norfolk Fire Group's individual engineers hold FireQual, IFSM, and UKFDT qualifications.
Professional Accreditations
FireQual is the independent, not-for-profit competence qualification body for the fire sector. FireQual accreditation provides independent, third-party verification that our engineers hold recognised qualifications for fire detection system design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
IFSM — Institute of Fire Safety Managers
Fire risk assessments — PAS 79-1:2020 & BS 9792:2025
The Institution of Fire Safety Managers is the UK's professional body for fire safety managers and fire risk assessors. IFSM membership demonstrates commitment to professional development, ethical practice, and compliance with current fire safety legislation and standards.
UK Fire Door Training (UKFDT) provides specialist qualifications for fire door inspection professionals. The Approved Inspector qualification is recognised under BS 8214 and the Building Safety Act 2022 as evidence of competence for conducting fire door surveys and producing inspection reports.
